"This was the very first of my sculptures
of peacemakers. I was inspired to create this sculpture after reading a story about Gandhi. An event in the story, where he was thrown off a train because he protested against not being able to ride in the car of his choice, led Gandhi on the path that would someday lead to the title of 'Mahatma' which means great soul."
